Stephen Wallace

About Us

Stephen Wallace is a member of the Piano Technicians Guild and has tuned for the Bay Chamber Concerts in Rockport, Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, Fox Island Concerts (Vinalhaven and North Haven), Seal Bay Festival, Judy Collins, Patty Griffin, Heather Pearson, Ethan Uslan, Aaron Robinson, Glenn Jenks Ragtime Revue, Hearstudios in Camden, Salt Bay Chamberfest in Damariscotta, DePonte String Quartet, Sean Fleming, Kevin Kiley, the Chewonki Foundaton, Heartwood Theater, The Footlights Theater, The Waldo Theater, Lincoln Academy and for the wonderfully delightful, classical pianist and teacher, Seymour Bernstein of South Bristol and Manhattan, NY.

Stephen studied piano technology at the Randy Potter School of Piano technology and apprenticed for three years with Paul Rice, former owner and founder of Rice's Piano Service. Paul Rice was a former PTG Examiner and is a piano tuner and rebuilder with over 46 years experience in the industry and long recognized for his high degree of demanding excellence. After Paul retired, Stephen has focused on his clients as well as Paul's, seeking perfection in all his work, from tuning to rebuilding. Wallace Piano Service recently took over the servicing of Paul Rice's and Michael Lynam's former customers.

But Stephen's favorite thing is to tune for the "non-famous" piano owner, at any ability with either upright or grand, in order to make their instrument thoroughly delight its owner.
